Since Neil Gaiman almost exclusively writes about unhappy or disturbed or somehow misbalanced relationships, or ones which end unhappily (excepting Stardust, which he apparently wrote specifically to counterbalance all the unhappy relationships in his works), I used to think his marriage was somehow unhappy. But now I notice that the romantic stories I write tend to be very un-romantic in that the relationships are destructive, or end badly, or are based on terrible misunderstandings or manipulation.
I do think my own marriage is quite happy and balanced. I in fact discovered that I find it difficult to imagine any other happy and balanced romantic relationship than my own...
So, to my great relief I conclude, extrapolating my own mental processes, that Neil Gaiman and his wife may very well be very happily married :D
What a gossip I am... guessing about the relationships of some people I've never even met*. Shame, shame.
* I did meet Gaiman once, for 30 seconds, when he was autographing in Tampere in the 90's.
